Introducing Bunny Girl!

**second post for today, please scroll down for today's Flutter By Wednesday project**

If you haven't had a chance to visit Karen's Doodles, you should really check it out! I LOVE her digi images! She has also just released her first children's book, how exciting for her! So, this little image is called "Bunny Girl" and isn't she darling??? When I saw her, I fell in love and had to order her AND "Bunny Boy" which you'll see soon enough. They are both so sweet!

For my card, I used a 4" circle template and then I masked it with Tim Holtz "Time" masking using CTMH "Heavenly Blue" ink. I also added some flowersoft on her basket as well as a window bubble over the eggs and the bling from Michaels. I kept the card cute and simple as I wanted 'Bunny Girl' to really be the main focus. I hope you like it!

Another House Mouse Card

Here's another little house mouse card. I know, it does look a little like Xmas with the mistletoe, but I had never colored it before and wanted to try it! I colored the stamp with my lyra's and used my mineral spirits for blending, added a little touch by embossing with swiss dots and then distressing the paper and if you can see it, I chalked a little pearlescent blue around the mice and a little brown under their feet!

Life Is Good...

Wow, can you believe it's May 1 today?? Well, they say April showers bring May flowers and I tell ya, after the rain yesterday, we have lots of flowers coming up and we need a boat in our backyard. Riley, our (almost) 6 mth old pup is having a blast in it, thinks it's his personal pool, all the while we're telling him to get out or we're going to have a BIG muckhole back there!!! LOL!

So, I dug out my House Mouse stamps and started to play. I hope you enjoy this one. I wanted something fun and spring like.

For this card, I used:
  • Martha Stewart 'Hydrangea' punch
  • Cricut Cart: Graphically Speaking
  • CTMH Life's Delight Paper pack
  • Bling from Michaels
  • CTMH Liquid Glass on the berries
  • Stamping Bella "Pearlescent Chalks"

Enjoy!

What's Mew?

Hello!! Well, I went down to meet my new niece last night and what a doll! She's beautiful!! My sister is doing very well, looks great!
This week, Stamping Bella's contest is to use pink and brown in a card and it's due today by 5:00pm. With everything going on, I literally JUST put this card together! Came up and had 3 msg's on my answering machine...can't talk, creativity in progress!! So, this is my entry for this week. I used CTMH "Life's Delight" paper pack (very pretty!), I paper pieced her pants and used fun flock on the cats to add texture/dimension. Of course, the stamp and sentiment are both from Stamping Bella!
Hope you like it!

Happy Birthday, Andrew (2007)

Good morning! So, I was going through my stash of cards and I found this one. I made this for my son's 11th birthday, 2 years ago! Isn't it funny how we start out thinking, "Wow! Look what I did!" and then we look back a couple years later and now we can say, "Wow! Look how far I've come!" That's how I feel when I look back at cards and layouts I did years ago. I would never change any of them, as that's how I got started and that was good enough for me then, so it's good enough for me now. I'm just going more and more outside my box and it's fun to look back and see just how far I've grown and will continue to grow. Especially with all the inspiration I get from my friends and from the blogs/websites I visit!

Happy Easter

I made this card last yr for Easter. I used the CTMH easter stamp and added some CTMH liquid glass to the eggs and using a kleenex, I dabbed the stamps with multiple colors to get the tie dyed effect!

My Heart Belongs To You

I made this card for my husband for our anniversary last yr. I used CTMH Sculpting Foam for the heart. I stamped it and then colored it red. It's almost like a soft clay and hardens as well.

House Mouse Birthday Card

Good morning! Another snowy day out there. Supposed to be 13* on the wknd, can you believe that?? I've added a 'Live Traffic Feed' to my site and I absolutely love it! I can see where you're from and it's so neat to see ppl from all around the world, coming to see my work! I'll have to be sure to keep posting!!

Yesterday I was looking for something and came across some cards I have made over the last yr, so thought I would share. This one was for my daughter's 8th birthday. It's a house mouse stamp and I used CTMH fun flock and glitter on the cupcake to add some dimension to it. She loved it!

Antiquing (cards) Class

On Friday night, our scrapbook group had Catherine Black, from Stampin' Up!, come up and teach us about antiquing. We had a ball! I think Catherine may think we're all a little crazy!!

The first card is all about tearing and creating a suede feel with your paper. We took the stamped piece and we ran a bone folder over it over and over and over till the paper started to separate. You use core paper for this. Once it starts to separate, you CAREFULLY pull the 2 layers apart and you're left with paper that feels like suede! You then stamp it and add your other colors on top to give it an antique look

The second card is about using sandpaper to create an aged look on the tree. We stamped the tree and then using sandpaper, you run it across the square so it scratches the paper. You then rub your ink color over the top giving it that cracked look!

TRIPLE Inked Embossing!!

Hello!! Well, I had another free afternoon, so I came down to my scrap room to play. This time, I worked on making my niece, Jayla, her 'first birthday' card. So, I went again with the Flower Child theme, but this time, I tried triple ink embossing! This is a bit (ok, more than a bit..LOL) harder. I went around the outside with 'chocolate' ink and then on the inside (top) I ran 'hollyhock' ink and then under that, I went with 'sunny yellow'. You have to be careful you don't get your ink on your other pads. After that was done, I went with the 'sunny yellow' and ran it freehand over the hollyhock area and vise versa. Just to try something different. Alot of fun and have I said I LOVE this new technique??

Materials Used: CTMH unless otherwise noted
  • "Chocolate" ink
  • "Sunny Yellow" ink
  • "Hollyhock" ink
  • "Flower Child" stamp set
  • "Annotations"stamp set
  • Boom-Di-Ada paper pack
  • Distressing tool (edges)
  • Co-ordinating markers/water color pencils/blending pen
  • Prisma glitter
  • Cuttlebug 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder
  • Expressions 'Plantin Schoolbook' cartridge (1)
  • Stampin' Up! scallop circle punch
