Good morning! First off...for all those AI watchers out there...Congrats Lee!! I was SO excited to see him win last night!! As far as I'm concerned, both he and Crystal are winners, but wow, what a finale. Ok, now that's out of the way, we had a bit of an eventful night last night. Our boy was out riding with his buddies and wiped out pretty good. He has road rash on the side of his face, his eye was swollen, what a mess. He's home today as he had a headache this morning. He looks better, but says he's very sore. He wiped out on the wknd too and mess up his knee's/elbows, so I tell ya, this boy is a mess.
I thought I would share these with you today. The flowers are from my gardens and the squirrels are our new tenants in our front tree. There's actually 5 babies we think. It's been neat watching her raise them. If anyone knows what those bell like flowers are, pls let me know!! I have no idea what they are called, but they spread like crazy. They don't smell, but look really pretty!
Have a wonderful day!!

Peace & Tranquility, This Is The Life...
(2nd post today, scroll down for today's FBW post!)
Hello again! I seem to be doing more photography than anything this last bit. I am enjoying it though as it is another passion of mine. These shots are from last night. The sunset was just beautiful as we were coming home from ball practice, so I ran in and grabbed my camera and Ashleigh and I headed to the beach. She checked out the water (brrr...) and I took some pics. I tell ya, it's SO nice to be able to see this every day from your front door! We're just a 2 minute walk from the beach/park. It's perfect!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Flutter By Wednesday # 111 - Unforgettable...
Good morning friends! It's time to flutter with another Flutter By Wednesday challenge! Today's challenge is open, but be sure to add a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your NEW creation. For today's creation, I decided to do a layout and incorporate both butterflies and a fairy. You see, today is my last day as a FBW DT member. So, what better way to end my 'unforgettable' journey than to include TWO of Danni's favorite things! Before I get to my creation, I'd like to first send out a HUGE thank you to Danni and the FBW team. You've been such an inspiration to me and even though I'm not on the new DT, I'll be playing along as often as I can and stalking those blogs! LOL! Danni, thank you for an amazing journey on my first DT, it was a blast and I look fwd to trying out next DT call, when I can relax and slow down a little :)
Now, onto my layout. My sister and I are 8 yrs apart (yep, me being the oldest) and growing up, we always gave each other 'sister' things and these are 2 of my keepsakes that I wanted to be sure to preserve and what better way than to scrapbook them! So, I took the one out of the frame and here's what I came up with. I love the way they turned out and it's something that I can treasure forever. Thanks Lee Ann!
So, now it's your turn to flutter over to the FBW blog and play along! Check out the new blog design while you're there and be sure to grab a blinky! Also, be sure to congratulate the new DT. Can't wait to see what you create this week!! Also, just a note, FBW will be taking a break for the month of June and will return in July...click here for details!

I'm Here!!
Good morning! Thought I had better check in and let you know I'm still here, I haven't left the blogging world, we've just been super busy! Andrew started ball this week, so we have practice one night, game another AND Ashleigh's riding in there. So 3 nights a week we're out and about and then they each had trips this week and today is Track & Field. Andrew's last at Deer Park and Ashleigh's first! So I'm heading up there today and hubby is trying to get home early so he can go too. What a week! Also starting to get organized for our retreat the wknd of June 4th. A little busy, huh???
Hope everyone is well. It's supposed to rain all day tmw, so I'm hoping to get in here and do some scrapbooking or at least do some blog hopping to see what everyone has been up to.
Oh!! Anyone out there watch Grey's Anatomy?? What a finale!!! WOW! I haven't watched CSI yet, hubby had a golf tournament, so we'll watch it together tonight. Any American Idol watchers out there? Who are you rootin' for??? I'm rootin' for Lee...go Lee go!!
Have a great day!

Out Of The Mouth's Of Babes....
Hi all! I haven't been creating much as I wasn't feeling well. Hubby and I went to dinner on Thursday and I wasn't feeling to good and woke yesterday with a nasty sore throat. Down to the walk-in I went, seeing as I can't get into to see our own family Dr these days (time to look for a new one) and I have strep. No wonder it hurt so bad!
Anyway...my sister has been putting some quotes on her MSN tagline, and I just had to share them because they just made me laugh. My nephew is quite the little man. He's turning 7 in July (where does the time go???) but he said the other day "I guess Maddie doesn't have a very good remembery" Maddie is his 4 yr old sister. How cute is that?? Then Lee Ann posts another one yesterday and had me laughing. Another from Hayden..."I guess the bee stung me last summer because he didn't like my type"
How cute are those??? Do you have any quotes that you could share? I'd love to hear them!!

The Birds & The Bee's!
Good morning friends! Yesterday afternoon I was out playing with one of my daycare kid's and a bee buzzed by her and went right to my bleeding hearts. So, guess what I did?? Yep, ran and got my camera! I was really impressed with these shots. You can see the pollen on the bee's leg! It was pretty cool to watch, let alone photograph! In the one shot of my bleeding heart, you can see the web's on it and then the oriole is one of our backyard birds. We have 3 males and a female, so we're hoping to see baby's soon! I'll keep you posted! Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Flutter By Wednesday # 109 - Real Friends Listen With Their Hearts
Hello! Can you believe another week has flown by? It's Wednesday and time for another Flutter By challenge!! This week's challenge comes to us from one of our DT members, Kimberly. She's asking us to use paper piecing anywhere on your creation. For my card, I used my Swiss Pixie stamp. Isn't she a doll? I glittered her wings and the little bobbles in her hair and paper pieced her to match the paper I used on my card layout. The paper and sentiment stamp is from CTMH. The pattern layout is from my CTMH "Wishes" book. Now it's your turn to flutter over to Flutter By Wednesday to be inspired by the DT and to try it yourself!! Be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel and make sure you use a NEW creation. Can't wait to see what you create!! Also, if you had a chance to play along last week, be sure to check out the winner of last week's challenge to see if you won 4 new digi's!!

Happy Mother's Day with a Poem AND a Recipe!
Hello and Happy Mother's Day! First off, here's a poem I found and wanted to share...
A mother is someone to shelter and guide us,
To love us, whatever we do,
With a warm understanding and infinite patience,
And wonderful gentleness, too.
How often a mother means swift reassurance
In soothing our small, childish fears,
How tenderly mothers watch over their children
And treasure them all through the years.
The hearth of a mother is full of forgiveness
For any mistake, big or small,
And generous always in helping her family
Whose needs she has placed above all.
A mother can utter a word of compassion
And make all our cares fall away,
She can brighten a home with the sound of her laughter
And make life delightful and gay.
A mother possesses incredible wisdom
And wonderful insight and skill-
In each human heart is that one special corner
Which only a mother can fill!

What Is A Mother?

I also wanted to share a recipe that I cooked up last night. Everyone raved about it, so I thought it would be fun to share.
BACON WRAPPED CHICKEN (I didn't say it was healthy...but it's OH SO GOOD!)
INGREDIENTS:
- 6 boneless/skinless chicken breast halves (4 oz's ea)
- 1 carton cream cheese (we've done both herb/garlic and chive/onion)
- 1 tbsp butter
- salt to taste
- bacon strips (calls for 6, I adjust accordingly)
PREPARE:
- preheat oven to 400*
- flatten chicken to 1/2" thickness
- spread cream cheese and add a little dot of butter and salt
- roll up and wrap with bacon
- place seam side down in greased 13x9" baking dish and bake uncovered for 35-40 min's or until juice runs clear
- broil 6" from heat for 5 min's until bacon is crisp
I added my own spin on it by pre-cooking mushrooms and bacon and adding a strip of bacon and mushrooms in the middle before rolling it up. I cooked it at 350* for about an hour, instead of 400* and it turned out really nice. Once it was done, I covered it with spaghetti sauce and shredded cheese and put back in oven till cheese was melted. Was very good!
Enjoy!
