DSC #35 - Flowers for Mother's Day

Good morning! Time for a new challenge at Digitally Sweet and this week, Denise has challenged us to

"Give Mother flowers for MOTHER'S DAY"

Since we're being sponsored by Cedar Chest Designs, we each chose a little something to play with. I chose the image "Spring Planter" and actually colored it using PSE9 and then used it as the background for my project today! Yes, with digital images, you can use them as backgrounds as well as images. Cool, right? I added the light effect in PSE9 as well. The sentiment is from my MMS kits.

Come on over and join us for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate! Cya there!

To All My Friends .. Happy Mother's Day!!

A little early here, but somewhere in the world, it's already Mother's Day. My Aunt sent me this today and I absolutely love it. I wanted to share with you and I'm certainly going to print this one off for those days when we DO think..."Why Me?" Happy Mother's Day!!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox..
Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up...
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'
Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mummy to Mum to Mother.....

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mummy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mum knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't know everything!
14 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother? She wouldn't have a clue. .
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mum? She's so five minutes ago.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mum's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mum would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mum.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair..

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Happy Mother's Day, from my daughter...

Well, we're having quite alot of rain here today, so it's a day to get out the coloring stuff and stamps and make cards or do layouts. We're actually celebrating Mother's Day today with my family as some can't do tmw, so we're heading out for lunch. Looking fwd to it!

When our little girl became old enough to color, she started making me things. When she became old enough to do a little more, she started making her own little layouts and now whenever I sneak to my craft room, she's usually right behind me and she makes card after card down there. So, this is what she made me for mother's day! Isn't this so pretty? I had given her some stamps to color and she went ahead and dug through her stash and made this all by herself. What do you think, another card maker in the works???

Love you baby girl!! Thanks for my card, it's beautiful.

My son says I have to wait till tmw for my card and gift, it's quite nice, having it spread out over the wknd!

Another Mother's Day Card

Good morning!! Here's another Mother's Day stamp, using the same Sara Kay stamp as yesterday's post AND the same CTMH paper pack, just in different colors!! See how easy it is to use the same stamp/paper, yet make it look completely different? Again, this is colored with my lyra's and mineral spirits, added a little glitter to her bonnet this time and the sentiment is a reitred CTMH stampset called "Special Friends"

I hope you like it...

Happy Mother's Day

Hello! If you're somewhere in Ontario, where the weather is starting to warm up, I hope everyone is getting a chance, at some point today, to enjoy this beautiful weather!! On Friday night, our scrapbooking group got together for our monthly club night and one of the girls, Tanya, got her hands on the cutest stamps and she was kind enough to bring them so we could stamp some too! This stamp is by Sara Kay and Tanya found her at Pointer's Scrapbook Store in Markham/Thornhill area. Isn't she a doll??? I couldn't wait to color her!! I chose to use her for the front of a Mother's Day card. I colored her with my lyra's and mineral spirits (I'm getting better, Nicky!!) added a little glitter to her apron and the paper is left over from the CTMH May Campaign "Tickled Pink" I LOVE this paper!! Sentiment is from CTMH as well.

Enjoy!!
