I found a new challenge called The Het Canary in blogland and I am literally getting in under the wire with this one!! It's due today!! I used the little freebie from Krista at Saturated Canary and came up with this .. enjoy and see ya tmw!

Saturated Canaries "Butterfly Baby"

Each morning I start my day reading through my blog roll and this morning, Krista, from Saturated Canary, had this to say .. 

"This week, my sister Jen left me a link on FB to a family whose infant son is infected with Epidermolysis Bullosa.  I had never heard of the disease before.  I'm not sure that, if I sat for an entire day and tried to imagine the worse disease for a child, that I could have imagined this disease.  It is truly that upsetting.  You can read more about it here."

Her sister, Jen, asked her to do something special for these families, so Krista designed this darling image that will be available starting tmw. All proceeds from this digital stamp for the first week of sales will go to the Butterfly Fund charity. You can read Krista's post HERE and see how you can help.

I've never heard of this disease, but when I read up on it, it brought tears to my eyes and made me even more thankful for my healthy children. It's heartbreaking. I know I'll be making a purchase tmw for sure. Thank you, Krista, for all you do. 

"Fancy"

I just had to share this .. it's not a card, but for me, it's special. I LOVE Krista's work (Saturated Canary) and when I was there a couple days ago, I found a list of 4 freebies! Of course, I had to dl them, they're amazing. So, here I was last night working on my copic coloring of "Fancy" and I had her hair and dress done, just experimenting really. My 16 yr old son Andrew comes in and says "Hey Mom, whatcha doing? What are those?" to which I replied "Copics .. " and he says "Hey, can I try????" Handed him my clipboard/image and he did her dress!! Look at the shading! I was so impressed and he just kept coloring and coloring away, explaining to me how my copics worked (lol) and we just chatted about whatever as he colored - and this is the end result. Of course, we can't really use it, but she earns a special place on my wall - hmm, or a special page in a scrapbook album. Either way, it was a special moment for me ..
