"Joy!" - OCC Challenge

This week's challenge on Our Creative Corner is a really fun one! Create a card or a project inspired by your favorite holiday book or movie. You'll have to make sure to hop by OCC to see what the design team came up with! I love Christmas and seeing as I just got all my stamps from Stamps and Smiles new release, I decided to go with Frosty The Snowman! I had a lot of fun putting this one together. I actually used 2 different stamp sets. I then thought it would be fun to add fun flock to his scarf, mitts and nose and of course, had to add all that glitter to the snowflakes (Martha Stewart punch)!

"Let It Snow!" Project Tuesday, Stair step Card!

Good morning! First off....HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our daughter, Ashleigh! She turns 9 today!!

This week over at Project Tuesday, we were asked to make a Stair step card. This one was alot of fun and again, not as hard as it looks! I actually used 2 stamps from the new releases at Stamps and Smiles:

1. Cuppy's Winter Wonderland (cuppy and sentiment)
2. Trim A Tree

I also used alot of embellishments on this card. On Cuppy, I paper pieced the hat and scarf and then added fun flock on the fur of her hat and I added glitter to her 'icing'. For the tree's, I added liquid applique to make the 'snow' and if you can see it, the whole white area behind the trees is all glitter as well. The "Let It Snow" is done in gold embossing with a little liquid applique added as well. Snowflakes are a from a new Martha Stewart punch I just bought.

An Announcement!

Good morning! I am THRILLED to announce that I have been asked by Jennifer Meyer, to be a Guest Designer on Project Tuesday for the month of October!! Today's challenge is to create a Pop Up Gift Card. For my project, I chose to use Carl the Cupcake, which you can find here. The paper is CTMH "Bella" and I used liquid glass and glitter to do the icing. I also used a glaze pen on his eyes, freckles, nose and shoes! This week also kicks off sneak peaks of Stamps and Smiles new release! "This whole week, you will see samples using each of the five NEW stamp sets!! 1 Fall set and 4 Winter sets. We also have posted four fun challenges and a few games for you to play along with. Feel free to use your favorite stamps and supplies." Place Card Markers - SASSC34 Challenge

Good morning! As some of you know, we have a family wedding coming up on Thanksgiving wknd. I'm amazed at how well everything has come together so quickly. We're even having a turkey dinner! It's going to be perfect. So, for the dinner, the children are all having 'half' portions and of course, my nephew is having chicken nuggets and fries (lol), his favourite. So, my Aunt asked me to come up with something to distinguish which children get which plates, so the servers can clearly see and don't have to ask. I got this idea from Ann at Raindrop Echo Designs. You should also pop over and see her work. She's very talented! Unfortuntely, I didn't have any place cards to work with, but I did have the sleeve from the invitation, (the place cards are the same as the invitation) so I matched my CS to the green in the invites and these little guys will just click onto the top. I cut a slit in the top so it sits right. I did all the girl's in the scalloped circle and my nephew's is the scalloped square. Let me know what you think! I'm also entering this into last week's Fresh Batch challenge.

This is actually the one I had started with...funny how you wake up the next day and think, wow, that is NOT what I was trying to create!!

"My Sweet Lily" ~ Fresh Batch Challenge - SASSC29

Good morning! I'm finally starting to feel my mojo coming back, slowly. This is my first attempt in over a week at a card. I did this for the Fresh Batch Sketch Challenge this week. For this one I used my new Sarah Kay stamp. I just love this one! I added some fun flock to her teddy bear and of course, some glitter here and there. I colored her with my lyra's and OMS. We found this amazing paper at a craft store and wow, does it ever allow the colors to move! I'm loving it!

Good morning! We had some craxy weather here in Ontario yesterday! Thunderstorms off and on all day and night. Other than that, we can't really complain! On Saturday, 4 of us took a road trip down to Markham and our first stop was to Pointer's to see Nicky, and of course chk out the sales! Was great to see Nicky and we ended up getting a couple stamps and some paper. Was a good day!! This is a stamp that my mom bought when we down there and it's absolutely stunning on paper! I couldn't wait to color it!!!! We also got our hands on some fantastic paper as well and the colors just move perfectly.

This week I was able to combine 2 challenges into one card. This week is a sketch challenge over at The Fresh Batch and on Our Creative Corner, it's a color challenge! We had to use shades of purple and could also use a neutral color. I used my little image that came in my goodie bag from Stamps and Smiles. I just love those cupcakes!!

Good (rainy) morning!! I've decided to try and get back into a bit of scrapbooking. I went to The Fresh Batch this morning and followed their sketch for this week and made a 12x12 layout of Ashleigh and her new cousin, Isabella (aka Bella Bunny). I used my distressing tools to design the paper behind the photo, just a little personal touch. Each Thursday morning, you'll find a new challenge over at The Fresh Batch and you can enter whenever you wish, but if you'd like to be entered in for the goodie bag, you have to have your entry in by Wednesday evening and Thursday will bring the new challenge AND the winner of the previous week! Love Is Like A Butterfly...SASSC23

A new sketch challenge is posted every Thursday. I actually decided to finish the inside on this one and really happy with it. I used gold embossing for the butterflies and the paper is from different places. Edge Scallop and Circle Scallop are both Stampin' Up! punches. Hope you like it!

I am SO excited! I came across a blog called Stamps and Smiles and they have a challenge blog called 'The Fresh Batch' and I've entered the last 2 challenges. I absolutely LOVE their stamps! Absolutely adorable! Well, I went on this morning to see the new sketch and OMGoodness!! I WON last week's challenge!! I am SOOOO excited! I can't wait to get my Stamps and Smiles goodie bag!

So, here's this week's entry! Isn't he just 'duckie'?? I stamped my own design on the background paper and chalked around the duck to make it look more like water. I also decided last minute to put white fun flock on my little duck, and you can see a little of the yellow through it (I colored it first) and it gives it a nice textured look. Hope you like it!
