Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone!! I've been quiet, I know. After our retreat last wknd, which was a HUGE success, I came down with some nasty back pain and headaches, so haven't been online much. Last Sunday was our sons 17th birthday!! Where in the world does the time go? This is the card I made for him and guess what, even he was impressed! Thought it was "pretty cool" Hey, I'll take that!

FBW #185 - Bright Colors!!

Good morning!! Guess what! It's Wednesday, which means a new challenge at Flutter By Wednesday's!! This week Danni challenged us to "get rid of the winter blah's, use bright colors" AND be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel. I chose to do a birthday layout from Florida in 2011. Ashleigh celebrated her 11th birthday. Look at that tan!!! I thought this certainly looks bright and fun!!! Cricut.com had an amazing special on a couple weeks ago and I got 2 new cart's for $19.95 each!! I bought "Cindy Lou" and "Sweet Treats". Here's a card I made using "Sweet Treats". My creative juices seem to be returning!! Last night I finished this card and this morning I did my LO for tmw's Lasting Memories challenge!! Feels good to be crafting again. I think alot of it is the weather is getting nicer and therefore I tend to feel better. I don't do well in the winter months at all. Hubby's off on his motorcycle and I'm heading out with the girl's tonight to see Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks!! Have a good one!!

Good morning! Happy Birthday wishes to my friend, Carrie! Here's a card I put together for her last night. I used my friend Kelli's magnolia and the cards I found at Michaels. I then used my SU! border punch and added a pc of black CS on the inside. The sentiments are both CTMH and the ink inside is also from SU!

Enjoy The Journey

Today we are heading to my parents place and we're going to learn how to make my grandma's secret cabbage rolls. Dad's birthday was on Thursday, so this is going to be a celebration dinner and then we'll hang out for a few games and a visit. Hopefully. Our daughter has been sick since Thursday night, so it'll depend on how she feels! So, here's the card I made for dad...Happy Birthday Dad!

Birthday Invitations for Ashleigh

Good morning!! While we were away, Ashleigh had her 10th birthday. Here we go in the double digits!! We spent the day at Gator Land and then took her shopping and went home for cake, which she helped choose..lol! So, when we got home, she informed me that she wanted to have a b-day party. So here's what I came up with for her invitations. Just something simple, sweet and fun. The image is from High Hopes and I used my CB "Happy Birthday" embossing folder. We're going to a place in town and all the girls will get to choose a ceramic piece and paint it! Ashleigh went to one there and loved it. Should be fun and this way, our house stays standing lol!

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! We're celebrating with a nice family dinner today here at our home. The house smells yummy and can't wait till everyone gets here. We're expecting 10-12 adults and 5 munchkins!! First things first...the winner of last week's blog candy is:

It's also time for another Lasting Memories challenge!! This week's challenge is to use any kind of embossing on your layouts. I couldn't resist my daughter's birthday down in Florida. I used CTMH "Topstitch" paper and stickease. This is one of my fav's for sure.

For my embossing, I chose to get my cuttlebug out and emboss some little presents and then I cut them out with my circle punch. The pattern is from CTMH "Magic" layout book. LOVE this book! Now hop on over to Lasting Memories to check out the rest of the DT's layouts and be sure to play along!

Birthday Book for Amy

Good morning!! Yesterday we had a busy day as hubby and I went to a Jay's game and then last night we went to a friend's 30th birthday party. On Friday, Amy asked me if I could make her a guest book for everyone to leave comments in and this is what I came up with. I found the idea on Jennifer's website and the poem here. I think it turned out quite nice!!

Some Of My Handmade Birthday Cards :)

I've been doing alot of coloring of my images, but I haven't been making anything with them. I just seem to have lost my mojo the last few days! I'll get back into it though. I think it's the heat and kid's are also busy in the pool, so I'm outside all day. I am NOT complaining! LOL! Here are some of my handmade cards I received for my birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday!

This is a card I made for my father in law. We're going to celebrate his birthday tonight, so thought I would make a nice card. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the swiss dots and then used my sanding block to expose the white core of the cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on the acrylic tag using black StazOn ink.

"Happy Birthday, Hayden" Cars Layout

This is a layout I put together using my new 'Disney Cars' cricut cartridge. I have to say, there's alot of cutting and piecing together for this car! It's worth it in the end though. Alot of little pieces, so patience is a virtue with this one. I handwrote the info on the trophy as I like to have a little of 'myself' in all my layouts. This was last yr, my nephew's 5th birthday. He loves Cars, so thought this would be perfect!

I hope he likes it!

Happy Birthday To You (Buckle Card)

I made this card for my cousin's birthday back in December. This is done using:

• CTMH 'Paper Garden' paper pack
• Cupcake Stamp set

This is called a 'buckle card' and I found the idea over on a fellow consultants blog, http://www.clearlyinspired.blogspot.com/ and if you go into her search bar at the top of her blog and type in buckle card, her post where she did her buckle card will come up!

Happy Birthday, Andrew (2007)

Good morning! So, I was going through my stash of cards and I found this one. I made this for my son's 11th birthday, 2 years ago! Isn't it funny how we start out thinking, "Wow! Look what I did!" and then we look back a couple years later and now we can say, "Wow! Look how far I've come!" That's how I feel when I look back at cards and layouts I did years ago. I would never change any of them, as that's how I got started and that was good enough for me then, so it's good enough for me now. I'm just going more and more outside my box and it's fun to look back and see just how far I've grown and will continue to grow. Especially with all the inspiration I get from my friends and from the blogs/websites I visit!

House Mouse Birthday Card

Good morning! Another snowy day out there. Supposed to be 13* on the wknd, can you believe that?? I've added a 'Live Traffic Feed' to my site and I absolutely love it! I can see where you're from and it's so neat to see ppl from all around the world, coming to see my work! I'll have to be sure to keep posting!!

Yesterday I was looking for something and came across some cards I have made over the last yr, so thought I would share. This one was for my daughter's 8th birthday. It's a house mouse stamp and I used CTMH fun flock and glitter on the cupcake to add some dimension to it. She loved it!

More Birthday Card Samples!

Just wanted to share a couple more birthday sample invitations I came up with! Both are for a little boy's first birthday and they're to be in a candyland type theme. So I went with the board squares and added the jar of candy on the card front and on the squares, I added candy! The first one here is a 9x4" card and I've left the center all open as that's where the birthday information would go.
