A Trip To The Heritage School House

Sorry, not a layout YET!!! I had a chance to drive down to a trip Ashleigh was on today and oh, I am SOOO glad I was able to go. They went to the "Heritage School House" and they've been preparing for weeks by watching Little House On The Prairie and learning about pioneers. The girl's were taught to sew and made their bonnets, shawl and apron and the boys made a handkerchief. The girl's wore pioneer dress and the boys as well - they wore checkered shirts, suspenders .. omgoodness, they were all do darn cute! I'd love to post a pic, but without parental consent, it wouldn't be right. But trust me, they were adorable. They each had a character to roll play for the day "April 27th, 1900". One of the kid's kept coughing and it turns out his 'character' was sick lol. I can't wait to get these on a layout. The kid's learned what it was like to live in the 1900's and go to school (STRICT!!) and they had to "Yes Ma'am", "No Ma'am", curtsy, bow ... it was AWESOME!! So here's some pics of my baby girl (ok, she'll be 12 in Oct lol) but isn't she just stinkin' ADORABLE!!!?? And she MADE these!!! So proud, can ya tell??

 

LMCB #81 - "We're Layering It Up" this week!!

Thank you so much for joining us last week at Lasting Memories!! It's time for a new challenge and this week, we're "Layering It Up"!! What do you love to layer up on your layouts? Paper, flowers, embellishments??? I absolutely LOVE to layer up my CTMH flip flaps!! As my friends can tell you, I use them whenever and wherever I can. I love that I can add more and more photo's on a pg without cluttering up my page. The bottom photo is done with flip flaps and I was able to add 4 extra photo's this way!!

Retreat Pictures and out little Retreat Thank You gift

Hi everyone! I wanted to share some pics from our retreat this past wknd and show you what we made the girl's for our Thank You gift. We made a little basket and filled it with 12 Christmas tags for each person. The whole thing was made using our new "CTMH Art Philosophy" cartridge. The wknd was great, but unfortunately, I woke up with a head cold on Saturday morning, so it was a little tough getting through the wknd for sure. Just starting to feel a little more human today. We surprised the girl's with a "Sundae Bar" on Saturday night for snack and as you can see, they loved it!! Alot of food, laughs and good friends. Was a great wknd and thank you all for coming!!

LMCB #64 and a Little Photography

Hey all!! I didn't get my challenge LO up today .. but I'll get it done and up soon. We have an awesome challenge this week at Lasting Memories - we're doing hidden journaling!! Be sure to pop over and check out what the DT did!! AWESOME!! In the meantime, here's some photo's from a mini photo shoot I did today of Ashleigh. I was hired to do a photo shoot and we went early to scout the area for the shoot and I took these. I'll post the shots from the photo shoot on my photography blog once they're done. I'm pretty exfited as this was my very first paid job!!!

Meet Winter from "Dolphin Tale"

Hi all! Well, we're back from our 2 week vacation in the sunny south of Florida. Hurrican Rina did mess things up a little for us - she didn't actually come in to land, but the gulf was cold (about 70* - cold to me lol) and we got a little wind/rain and low temps, but when that sun came out, man was it hot. We all came home with nice tans and relaxed. We did have a chance to get over to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to meet Winter, from Dolphin Tale, and her friends. What a lucky girl she is, not to mention the others that are there. Ashleigh and Keith have seen the movie and said it's excellent. Was a good experience for Ashleigh to see the props etc as the movie was filmed at CMA and to learn fact vs fiction as far as the movie as well. For anyone that has seen the movie, apparently they amputate Winter's tail - they actually did not. It fell off bit by bit. She's had quite a few different tales and she doesn't wear it all the time. She has learned to function very well without it and when she has it on, she has a trainer in with her the whole time helping her exercise it. Pretty cool to see. She's 6 yrs old now and doing very well!! She's like a puppy dog following her trainers around .. So, meet Winter!! You can see her tail in the one pic .. she's a very lucky gal!! Check out Winter on her WebCam! The last couple pics are of Ashleigh looking at Winter's very first tale as well as (not THE crab trap) a crab trap that was wrapped around Winter's tale. After The Storm!

Morning!! Wow, did we have a storm whip through last night!! It came out of nowhere and left just as fast, but left a lot of damage behind. The skies turned green, there was HUGE hail - it was scary. Here's some pics I took from along Lake Drive.

This is at the end of our street. I do daycare for these guys! Poor Landen was devastated and made his mommy call and make sure "My Karen is ok!"
