FBW # 191 - "Fluttering By To Say Hi!"

Good morning!! It's Wednesday and that means a brand new challenge at Flutter By Wednesdays today!! First off, thank you all so much for joining us last week. Wow, there was SO much inspiration and I loved seeing everyone's take on our "Anything With Wings" challenge!! For this week, we're back to making sure you have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation AND we're using this inspirational photo!! Is this not GORGEOUS!!!

And here's what I created. CTMH came out with this super cute stamp and as soon as I seen it, I HAD to have it and thought it was PERFECT for FBW challenges!! I love it!!! I chose to use the colors within the photo as my inspiration. I was going to add flowers, but when all was said and done, I thought it would have been to much. It's hard to see here, but I cut out the tree top and popped it up. I also sponged the background with CTMH "Heavenly Blue" and "Garden Green" for the sky/land. The tree, butterfly and sentiment are all included in the one stamp.

Now it's your turn to get on over to FBW and be TOTALLY inspired by what you see from both DT and entries!! Hope you join us, we'd love to see what you create!! REMEMBER!! You need to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations. Happy Fluttering!!

Cut For Cancer

Last weekend we had our first Winter Retreat and it was a HUGE hit!! I managed to get a lot done this time around. I have done these photo's in digital, but I wanted to get them on real paper - the traditional way. This was such a proud moment for me as a Mother and for Ashleigh in what was her very OWN decision. She came to me one day and said "Mom .. I really want to cut my hair." Of course I looked at her, those long beautiful golden, curly locks and asked "Why!?" She turned to me and said "For cancer Mom. I want to give my hair to someone who needs it more than I do and besides, it grows back." For a 10 year old to say that, on her own no less, I was both awed and so very proud of her that day. So, we made the appt with a friend of ours who was more than happy to do it. Brydee straightened her hair and off it went. Ashleigh looked beautiful with her new hair style!! Such a proud moment as a parent!!

Supplies:
  • CTMH "Reflections" for the layout pattern idea
  • CTMH "Roxie" paper and stickease
  • CTMH Embellishments (all except "CUTE" and "UNIQUELY YOU"

Christmas Cards for Grandma

Each year I take a handful of Christmas cards to my grandma to give out to the special ladies in the nursing home. I'm heading up to see her tmw, so just finished these. The lighting isn't the best, so they don't show as well as they look and the stickles are still a little wet, but wanted to show you what I came up with. I added Martha Stewart snow glitter to the snowmen and then fun flock on the bottom for now .. everything else is CTMH. The sentiment is what will be inside. Have a great night!!

LMCB # 47 - Distressing!

Morning!! Today's a new challenge at Lasting Memories! It's all about distressing this week! I just realized, these 2 photo's are different colors, but it's the SAME paper! I'm in a rush and pre-posting, so you get the idea, right? Gotta love lighting! So, this week we're distressing our LO's and for mine, I chose to do a LO using pics from my birthday last yr. I still have to journal, but we had a great time!!! The paper is a kit from CTMH "You & Me" which I thought very fitting for this LO. I used distress inks on everything, the paper has a distressed look to it and I distressed the edges of the 12x12 CS. Be sure to hop over and see what everyone else did and come out and play along!! Have a GREAT day!

Forever In Our Hearts

Here's a 2 pg layout I did in honor of Papa. As some of you know, he passed away March 19th and we had a memorial service on March 26th. I wanted to do something special and something where I could keep all the cards, program etc in a safe place. Plus, the urn was absolutely beautiful as well and we were given a photo of it, so I thought it would be nice to have a special place for that as well. So this is what I came up with! I cut the "In Memory Of.." in half and cut to size that worked for me and then decided I would hinge his photo to the poem. On the other page, I used a 12x6" memory flip flap to enclose sympathy cards and his program etc in and then attached that to my page protector. When you turn it, you find some hidden journaling. I'm really happy with the way this turned out!

I don't know if you can see the journaling, but the Papa ALWAYS had a fedora on. At the luncheon, grandma put all his hats out and I believe most of the grandchildren and some of the GREAT grandchildren all got to choose one. I just love this pic. He would have loved to see this!! The business card was his little side business after he retired. He was actually given that nickname from the guys at the garage where he took the scrap. Suited him!

Supplies: (all CTMH)
  • 12x6" flip flaps
  • "Miracle" paper pack/stickease
  • Chipboard letters
  • Ink - sweet leaf and heavenly blue

"Sophia" WOTG - Cards

These are the cards I put together using "Sophia" WOTG from CTMH. I love these. I made 6, but I've left 3 blank so I can put different sentiments on them. They are so pretty and the colors are gorgeous. Remind me of spring! To view the LO's from this kit, click here! After 6 cards and 2 LO's, I STILL have lots of paper and embellishments left over to do even more!!

"Sophia" CTMH Workshop On The Go

My friend Kelli and I run a monthly scrapbooking club. This time around we're trying something different and we've started a "Workshop On The Go" club. CTMH has put together some great kits. This one is "Sophia" and I think this is my fav so far. I added in some stickease, chipboard letters and journalling jots that are separate from the kit. Each kit comes with a stamp, Lv2 paper pack and embellishments as well as a workshop guide. I made 2 layouts and 6 cards and still have enough to do some more layouts and cards. It's well worth the money for sure and now you can implement that guide with other paper packs as well. I still have to add my journalling for this one.

Sophia is our April WOTG

Project Tuesday - 6 Pack "Cherry Oh!"

Good morning!! It's Tuesday and time for another project and I LOVED this one!! It's called a Six Pack and it's the neatest idea. It's a little hard to see, but there's actually 6 'packs' in this little box! For mine, I used CTMH "Cherry Oh" paper and the cherry is from my Hello Kitty cartridge, the ladybugs are from the dollar store! I thought this would be really cute for Ashleigh's teacher. She's very artsy so we're going to fill it with art supplies and give it to her for Xmas. So now it's your turn!! Hop on over to Project Tuesday and be inspired by the DT and play along!
