If you haven't been by in a couple days, August brings a new Designer Highlight at RAKscraps and we get to play with the kits! Click here and here to see the first 4 pages of my album. My aunt and I took a road trip to St Jacobs, which is Amish/Mennonite Country and we had an amazing time and stayed at a little B&B called "By The River". Here's a layout showcasing the photo's I took right from our little back deck. The scenery was incredible and you could hear the river rapids and wildlife.

This was truly home away from home and our Host, Heather, was a wonderful person as was her husband and son that we met. The cabin is actually attached to the main house but you wouldn't know it. You hear nothing whatsoever and even in the back yard you were private and didn't see them. We absolutely loved that deck. Be sure to come by tmw as I have some gorgeous views to show you! Cya then!

My Trip To St. Jacobs

Hey all! Wow, another hot one coming in today and over the wknd!! What an amazing summer, although better for some than others. So, August brings a new Designer Highlight at RAKscraps and being on the Creative Team, we get to work with the kit! I've started my St Jacobs trip album and here's a couple pages with more to come!! This was my first trip to St Jacobs and we stayed at "By The River" B&B which was fantastic and we're looking to go again in Sept!! The photo's on the site not watermarked with "BBCanada..." are actually mine!

LMCB#99 - "Mining For Silver"

Hi everyone!! Being on holidays, I haven't had a chance to play!! I've really been enjoying family time and hubby and I even got to get out this week for some alone time and lunch together. Was very nice!! Anyway, today's a new challenge at Lasting Memories! We're "Mining For Silver" this week and want to see silver somewhere on your layout. So, for my layout this week, I did another digital and used 2 photo's that Ashleigh took of me and our Bud (my best buddy!!). I added a silver brad, staple as well as there is silver in the photo's!! Child's Play (July #4) - Watercolor

This week at Child's Play it's an "art supply" challenge - WATERCOLOR! Super fun and I knew this layout was perfect! Another layout using the adorable kit called "Silly Monkeyz" by DesignZ by DeDe!

Ashleigh spent the wknd with her grandma and one of the crafts was painting some feathers they found on the ground as well as rocks and stuff. They had a blast! Come on over and join the fun at Child's Play! We'll see you there!!

This week at Lasting Memories, we're challenging you to use RED & WHITE or RED, WHITE & BLUE! I am very excited to have been chosen as part of the Creative Team at RAKscraps!!! I was given 2 kits to work with from our July Sponsor - DesignZ by DeDe - and this is from "Americana Bearz". I admit, I struggled a little since I am from Canada, but I love this kit and made it work for me! This is a photo from our retreat this past May. Already looking fwd to our next one in Nov and we're sold out already!! No spots left!! How exciting for Kelli (co-host/very good friend) and I! Easter Memories

I was checking out RAKstar today and the new May Mega Kit is up and there's some awesome challenges going on, so I did Connie's "Use It All - May" challenge and we get this kit free and we have to use all the pc's and then we get a freebie just for playing along! I decided to do a pic from this yr's Easter dinner at my sister's place. Isn't my niece Maddie a cutie pie?? I think so!!

LMCB #86 - It's A Treasure Hunt!!

Hello friends!! It's time for a new challenge at Lasting Memories!! We're going on a treasure hunt this week! We're challenging you to scrap about something you Treasure and tell us the story behind it. This could be Family, a Vacation spot, your home a piece of jewelry etc. JULIE is also giving away:

For my layout this week, I chose to do another Florida (2 pg) layout. Every time we go, Keith gets the kid's out in the ocean and they go on a treasure hunt to see what they can find. This time was really cool. They ended up with their shells AND a baby jellyfish!! We kept him for a small bit and had a good (safe) look at him and then we released him back to the ocean. Pretty cool!!! I created my own backgrounds on these layouts using sand photo's and adjusting the 'opacity'! COOL huh??

"Good Times Together"

Another page to share from my ongoing work on "Grandma's Story". All these are being done in My Memories Suite V3 as we are going to give a copy to both my Aunts as well as my mom. I'll take a copy as well as I don't have a lot of the originals BUT I'm also going to do some traditional scrapbooking with the photo's that I do have. 

So, story behind this is my Aunt's birthday. We had some fun with one of the photo's and made it "Fishbowl" in My Memories Suite. The second page - my mom had set up a tripod to get all of them in the same photo, so she said everyone put your hands on your laps. Grandma didn't really care for that idea, can ya tell by her expression?? Oh I laughed!! The second one was a goofy one and she put her thumb up and then stared at it as the camera went off. Too funny!!!

Hello! Well, another wknd has passed us by. Seems the months are just flying by, doesn't it?? Maybe one of these days spring will come back!! I wanted to share another 2 pg layout for "Grandma's Story". This was her 93rd birthday on December 2, 2011. I just love this photo and that smile would light a room. The story behind the second layout was "OH! I don't need chocolate cake!!" (spoken with an english accent) and my Aunt Anne spoon fed her a little piece .. which you can see from the second photo that she decided she certainly DID need that chocolate cake!!

I LOVE this title!! My mom made it down today and we had a chance to work a little on Grandma's book. She LOVED her cat, Toffee, which this layout very clearly states I think!! Just had to share! This was taken in Feb - see, I stamped the date on kitties toosh! 

Child's Play - "Wizard Of Oz"

Hi all!! We have a great new challenge at Child's Play this week! It's all about the Wizard Of OZ! Come on out and enter your LO! For mine, I used My Memories Suite V3. I was a little stumped on what to do, but then I came up with the idea to google images from the movie and I chose my favorite parts and then I added some journaling as it was one of my favorite movies as a child. Hello and Happy Easter!!! Today's a new challenge at Lasting Memories and we're challenging you to use those "April Showers" photo's! Whether it's playing in the rain, showing off some blooms .. we want to see it all! My layout today is from 2 springs ago - it rained and rained and then we ended up with this BIG puddle in the backyard. It just wouldn't go away. Turns out the neighbors water main had broke. This thing was in our backyard for a couple weeks easily!! Oh well, Ashleigh and of course the dogs made the best of it and it made for awesome photo's!!!! SUPER Dragonfly!

Good morning and happy Saturday! It's a 4 day wknd here for the kid's, 3 for the rest of us - except me :) I get 4 to! So, over at RAKscraps, they had a cool challenge where we had to "Use It All". We were given this kit:

and we had to use EVERYTHING in the kit!! Just for playing the challenge, we're receiving the add-on to this kit!! Can't beat that! I was doing great till I came to figuring out where to put that really blue flower. Then I had to figure out what pics would work with the layout and voila!! The SUPER dragonfly of Florida! LOL!! This guy landed on my arm and stayed awhile. Was awesome! 

"I Finally Won A Cake, Mom!"

Imagine my surprise when the phone rang this afternoon and it was Ashleigh saying "Mom! I FINALLY won a cake!" Poor girl has been trying for years. Every yr the Gr 8's do a cake raffle and they are marked on the cakes they make - all money goes towards the gr 8 grad. When Andrew was at DPPS, he won 3 yrs in a row!! They buy tickets for $.25 each and then drop them in the jars. Ashleigh was VERY determined and had a plan in place this morning when she left with her $5 bill and it paid off!! Congrats Ashleigh!! Can we eat it now????

LMCB #80 - "Pawsitively" Sweet!

Happy Sunday everyone! Time for a new challenge at Lasting Memories. This week we're asking you to show off your pets, zoo or animal pics!! Of course, I chose our boys. I LOVE that paw print one - that's one BIG paw!! When we brought Riley home and had a peek at those paws we knew then he was going to be huge and he is!! He's about 140 and Bud's about 85 or so. For my layout, I used My Memories Suite, so these are completely digital. Speaking of MMS - check out this deal they're offering for March!
