Just Because

Here's a card I put together the other night and then finished it up this morning so I can enter it over at FBW, which is an OPEN challenge this week as long as you have a butterfly or fairy on your creation. This little cutie is from High Hopes stamps. I coloured her up with my prisma's and added some glaze and gems to finish it up.

Saturated Canaries "Butterfly Baby"

Each morning I start my day reading through my blog roll and this morning, Krista, from Saturated Canary, had this to say .. 

"This week, my sister Jen left me a link on FB to a family whose infant son is infected with Epidermolysis Bullosa.  I had never heard of the disease before.  I'm not sure that, if I sat for an entire day and tried to imagine the worse disease for a child, that I could have imagined this disease.  It is truly that upsetting.  You can read more about it here."

Her sister, Jen, asked her to do something special for these families, so Krista designed this darling image that will be available starting tmw. All proceeds from this digital stamp for the first week of sales will go to the Butterfly Fund charity. You can read Krista's post HERE and see how you can help.

I've never heard of this disease, but when I read up on it, it brought tears to my eyes and made me even more thankful for my healthy children. It's heartbreaking. I know I'll be making a purchase tmw for sure. Thank you, Krista, for all you do. 

"Just Wanted To Say"

Good morning! This past weekend my family had 2 birthdays and this is one of the cards that I made for my Aunt, who turned 65 and looks amazing!! When I did this card up, the colors - everything - just called her name. I added a little 'coupon' inside good for lunch or dinner as well. The image is a Magnolia .. the paper is Bo Bunny (love those sunflowers!!) and the chipboard/stamp is from CTMH!

I had actually had her done on CS and didn't I mess up her face, so went to reprint and NO INK! So here's what I came up with - a digital card front. I'm actually pretty happy with it.

And here's mine!! I have to admit, I struggle with sketches sometimes and thank goodness this is digital because I deleted 5 pages!! I just couldn't get it to work for me. Till this one!!

Hello friends! So sorry, I'm late with my Lasting Memories post this week. I had a sick girl home 2 days last week and just picked my son up from school with flu symptoms. They weren't sick a day all summer! 

Friday night hubby and I went to dinner and to see John Fogerty in conncert. Honestly, the BEST concert we have seen! Small venue, very intimate and he had the crowd on their feet 90% of the time. Was incredible. If you ever have the chance to see him, you certainly should!

Ok! This week at Lasting Memories, we are challenging you to use this sketch but there's a twist - that HAS to be flowers on your LO as well! 

Here's what I came up with! I did change it to 3 instead of 4 photo's in order for it to work for me and this is another digital LO using MMS!

I had a few moments and wanted to pop in and visit blogland and see what some of my fav's have been up to and omgoodness! So glad that I did! I entered a challenge at Saturated Canary (she has another one on now you should check out!) to win a CD giveaway by Chantilly. I had never heard her, but when I stopped by, we were able to listen and I found I really liked her music and would love to have her CD .. well, I WON!! Thank you so much!!! I can't wait for my new CD's to come and have them play while I'm crafting. 

DDC #29 - "Baby Baby!"

Good morning! Time for a new challenge at Digi Darla's today and our challenge this week is to create a 'Baby' project! Maybe for a baby's birthday, new baby, baby shower .. you get the idea! Here's my card using DD's "Blessings of Heaven 9". I LOVE these images. 

I used the sketch below and added some distressed edges, stickles and glitter and colored with my lyra's. Added a couple little pins and I'm quite happy with it! Come on over and join us at Digi Darla's and remember, you receive a sweet image just for playing! Check it out!
