Hello Kitty!

Michaels had their cricut cart's on sale this wk, so I ended up buying 2. I posted my card from "Life's A Beach" a couple days ago and this one is from "Hello Kitty". Isn't it adorable?? I fell in love with this particular image right away. I love teddy bears and in fact, when I was a little girl, my grandma gave me one to chase away the bad dreams. She's no longer with us, but my little teddy bear now chases away my little girl's bad dreams and he'll continue on with her kids. So, this little card just has a special place in my heart! Who doesn't love a teddy bear??

All Hands On Deck!

This week at Michaels, the Cricut cartridges are on for $50, so hubby gave me money for one and I bought "Life's A Beach". I LOVE it! This is the first card I made with it and I admit, I struggled with the background and then decided to add the eyelets and make into a challenge entry for Cute Card Thursday, Challenge # 70, 'Eye Eye!' I used CTMH prisma glitter on the words to make them pop. Enjoy!

Card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and I cut the first image at 4" (octpus and words) and then layered with the octopus being 2 3/4"

House Mouse Challenge # 48 - Sketch!

Hello! I'm a couple days late on my House Mouse Monday challenge, which is a sketch this week, but I'm on holidays, so not in my craft room as much. Mind you, with all this rain, you think I would be. I actually find I'm having a little creative block right now too, so thank goodness for challenges! I actually wanted to try something a little different with this one and make the card pattern/paper more of a focal point than the image. Let me know what you think!!!

PAPER: Life's Delight (CTMH)
INK: Crystal Blue (CTMH)
EMBELLISHMENTS: Ribbon and brads from CTMH

I colored with lyra's and OMS and then chalked the background and added some glitter!

Ashleigh and Bella - SASSC25

Good (rainy) morning!! I've decided to try and get back into a bit of scrapbooking. I went to The Fresh Batch this morning and followed their sketch for this week and made a 12x12 layout of Ashleigh and her new cousin, Isabella (aka Bella Bunny). I used my distressing tools to design the paper behind the photo, just a little personal touch. Each Thursday morning, you'll find a new challenge over at The Fresh Batch and you can enter whenever you wish, but if you'd like to be entered in for the goodie bag, you have to have your entry in by Wednesday evening and Thursday will bring the new challenge AND the winner of the previous week! Have fun!

STAMP: none
PAPER: Stamping Bella
EMBELLISHMENTS: ribbon (stamping bella), felt flowers (miko toy warehouse)

Maisy KETTO

This is Maisy KETTO. Another card from Nicky's class. Again, colored with lyra's and OMS (odourless mineral spirits). I really liked the layout with this one. Very cute and creative! Don't forget, you can find these cute images at Stamping Bella! Click 'stamps' and then scroll down to 'KETTO' and you'll find them there! Be sure to chk out all the stamps etc!!

Don't Forget!

Don't forget to "Play Along" with Monday's challenge! Each Monday a new challenge will be posted! Have fun!

Just A Note - 2 Challenges!

Good morning! Looks like we may finally be getting our summer here in Ontario. Apparently everyone else has been getting the really hot weather! This is my entry for this week's Stamping Bella sketch Challenge and this week's Our Creative Corner "Triple Play" challenge. We had to choose 3 embellishments out of 6 choices. I chose ribbon, brads and bling! I also paper pieced "Billboardabella" (outfit), one of my favourite techniques!
STAMP: Billboardabella (Stamping Bella) *comes with sentiments*
PAPER: Stamping Bella
EMBELLISHMENTS: All CTMH (ribbon, brads and bling)

Felix KETTO

Another card we did in one of Nicky's classes at Stamping Bella. This one is using "Felix KETTO With A Flower" Again, we did the ribbon technique on this one as well.

Happy Birthday

This is a card I did down at Stamping Bella, with Nicky. This is one of the many KETTO images. You can find more of Nicky's creations here. We colored this one with lyra's and OMS, and the tip Nicky shared with us for this card is the bow. If you look closely, the 'ribbon' on the card is actually a thin pc of CS and then you make your actual bow with ribbon. Saves ribbon AND money and looks great! Thanks, Nicky!

"Play Along Monday" Challenge #1 - Christmas In July!

Welcome to "Play Along Monday's"!! I've been running this challenge over on our scrapbook club blog and I've decided to run it here instead. So we're going to start fresh and new. Each Monday will be a new challenge and can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!! I've been so inspired by the challenges I participate in and I hope to pass that inspiration on through my blog now as well.

So, let's get this week started!! This Monday's challenge is....CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Who doesn't love Christmas? I'm really looking fwd to seeing everyone's creativity. All you have to do is put a DIRECT link in Mr. Linky to your blog post (to do this, once you've posted your creation, click on it's title and a new page will come up with JUST your creation, copy/paste the address into Mr Linky and you're done!) and then leave a comment here as well. Just in case Mr. Linky goes for a walk! Then I can still see who played. If you don't have a blog, no problem! Send me an email and I'll add it on for you! Thanks for playing "Play Along Monday's"!

Be Yourself...Everyone Else Is Taken

Have you ever been really impressed with a card you've done? You come out surprising even yourself? That's what happened with this one. I came across another challenge blog, Stampin' For The Weekend, and this weekend's challenge is "Rock n Roll 70's" You had to choose from 1 of 3 song TITLES for your inspiration and I chose "Three Times A Lady" by the Commodores. When I first got this stamp set from CTMH, I wasn't sure if I would like it, being that it's solid. But I love it! This is my first time doing the image in color though and I really like it!! Let me know what you think! I did the inside as well.

STAMP: CTMH "Be Yourself"
PAPER: Stamping Bella
PATTERN IDEA: CTMH "Wishes" Card Book
EMBELLISHMENTS: All from CTMH

Simon Says - Summer Fruits!

The challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week is SUMMER FRUITS or SUMMER FRUIT COLORS! This is my first time coloring this apple basket and I really had fun with it! I am really happy with how it turned out. I embossed the card with "Swiss Dots" and then I colored with my lyra's and OMS and added some glitter to the handle and the apples as well. Just a touch adds a lot! This is also my first time using my (very first set!) nestabilities and I am IN LOVE! More to add to my ever growing stamping addiction! I sponged around the image with CTMH "Crystal Blue" ink. Thank you to my friend, Christine, for letting me stamp this image!

Enjoy!

Tilda With Flowers - High Hopes Stamps Challenge # 39

Good morning!! I thought this little Tilda might bring some sunshine here in Ontario. We are still waiting for our summer temps! I did this for the High Hopes Stamps Challenge #39, "Upsy Daisy" and we had to include daisy's on our card and if we don't have any, we could use any white flower. So I went with my white embroidered flowers from CTMH. I colored her with lyra's and OMS and added some CTMH "Crystal Blue" ink around my image. There's also some glitter on her flowers, but I don't think you can see it well. The paper is CTMH "Tickled Pink", which is NLA as it was a campaign. I really hope they come out with a paper pack in the fall catty! Thank you to my friend, Christine, for letting me stamp this image.

Have a great day!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #66

I had a few minutes today to do my card for Danni's Flutter By Wednesday challenge. This week was Cathy's turn to come with the challenge and she decided we had to use a butterfly and/or fairy and use brown and pink. This was one of those cards that just 'comes together' and you have no idea what you're going to do or how it's going to turn out. All in all, I'm quite happy with it!

STAMP: CTMH April SOTM "Butterfly Wings"
PAPER: CTMH "That's Amore"
INK: CTMH "Chocolate" and "Hollyhock"

Stamping Bella AND OCC Challenge!

Good morning! Well, we're halfway through the week already, which means new challenge entries! This entry is actually for 2 different challenges. The sketch challenge is from this week's Stamping Bella challenge and you can find it here. If you'd like to play, you have till 5pm EST Thursday, July 16th to enter and all you have to do is email your entry to Emily. Over at Our Creative Corner, this week's challenge is 'Pet Parade'! So I was able to incorporate both challenges into one card and I'm glad because I don't know about you, but it's awfully busy in the summer months. I wanted to add a little texture to my card, so I did both the dogs in Fun Flock.
Thank you to Nancy and Hannah for letting me stamp these cute little dogs! They actually stamp together, but I cut them to separate them.
STAMP: Stamping Bella (sorry, I can't remember the name!)
PAPER: Stamping Bella

When Life Deal's You Lemons...Stamping Bella Challenge

I LOVE this little sentiment. I've used it in 2 challenges recently, this being the second. This week's challenge at Bloggabella is another sketch challenge! Awhile back, I went down to Stamping Bella and bought a grab bag of stamps and in it was this lemonade pitcher and sentiment. I used the pitcher and matching sentiment for this week's challenge. I had some lemon paper left, so used that up as well. Added liquid glass to the pitcher for dimension and a little glitter, but I don't think you can see it very well. It looks good in person! Colored with lyra's and OMS.

PAPER: MICHAELS
EMBELLISHMENTS: CTMH GLITTER AND LIQUID GLASS

House Mouse Challenge #45 - Seasons

This week over at the House Mouse Monday Challenge Blog, the challenge for this week is 'Seasons'. You could choose any season you like, so I chose Christmas. I have my first Christmas card for '09 done! I colored my little mice with lyra's and OMS and chalked the background with a light green. You can't really see it, but I added glitter on the tips of their ears as well as the mistletoe.
STAMP: HOUSE MOUSE MISTLETOE MOMENT
PAPER: CHRISTMAS PAPER PACK FROM MICHAELS
EMBELLISHMENTS: SNOWFLAKE BRADS (MICHAELS), CURLY RIBBON (DOLLARAMA), PRISMA GLITTER (CTMH)

Some more pics from Palmer Rapid's

Couple more pics, you can see the rapids better in these ones. The guy in the back of the kayak used to work with Keith and Thomas, Andrew's best friend, is in the front. The one of Thomas jumping, he's body surfing the rapids...the last one is a turkey vulture.

Palmer Rapid's Wknd Vacation Pics

This past wknd, we went to a beautiful place called Palmer Rapid's for the wknd. Unfortunately, weather wasn't so great, but we're having weird July weather everywhere! Still waiting for that summer weather to come! We camped on the ridge of the rapids, so you could hear them all the time. The kids fished, rode their bikes and Ashleigh and Andrew's friend Thomas got a kayak lesson and learned to body surf. They were half frozen, but they braved the elements! Andrew's not a boat person, so he stayed with me on shore or rode his bike while Thomas kayaked. Here's a few of my 200 pics...I'll have to get them printed and on layouts!! Enjoy!
