LMCB # 23 - Better Late than Never!

~second post today, please scroll down to see sample #3 of the wedding invites I'm doing and let me know what you think!~

I'm a little late today, but this week at Lasting Memories we're doing a sketch challenge! I loved this one. I did matte my photo's first, so then I had to get a little creative as they didn't fit! So I overlapped and love the look it gave. This is from our 2009 trip to Palmer Rapids when a friend of ours taught Ashleigh how to kayak and run the rapids. She had a blast!!! Bow hop on over to LMCB and be inspired by the DT and let's see your take on the sketch!

Wedding Invite - Sample #3 - My Fav!!

As promised, here is the last sample invite I've put together and this is my favorite of the bunch. I love this one. I got the template idea from my CTMH Originals book and then just adjusted the size to what I needed and the corner scrolls and hearts are from Cricut "Sweetheart" cart. I found that stamp set (RSVP, Menu, Directions) at Michaels! How perfect is that?? I'll be sending these in with Keith tmw to give to the groom and I'll keep you posted as to which they choose. Keith and I have decided that we will do the invitations free in lieu of a wedding gift and this way, they can put money they had set aside for invites into their honeymoon!

I've decided to enter this in a couple challenges:

LMCB # 23 - Sketch Time!

I love what they all came up with!!

Wedding Invite - Sample #2

As promised, here's sample #2 for my wedding invites. If you missed sample #1, click here. For this one, it opens "up" instead of like a book. I used my Martha Stewart heart border punch and I used "Sweethearts" cricut cart for the heart and scrolls. The invite is printed on vellum and will be attached on the top half and the pocket will hold all the other info needed. I'm hoping to get more done tonight so I can send in to give them to look at over the wknd, then we can make a decision and go from there. I'll have to get better ribbon as this one was to thick and of course, once you cut it, it frays!!

Mini Pizza Boxes

Hello! We're having a semi-mild day here today. Everything's melting, but what a mess. That cold will be back, you can be rest assured! I've been asked to make pizza boxes for a little boys birthday. So since I have nothing to do with pizza in my craft room, I had to get creative. This is what I came up with. I found the template (4x4" box) at Splitcoast Stampers. I want to do twine around it, but didn't have any on hand and she was asking for samples. So we'll see what she thinks! Let me know what you think!

Wedding Invitation, Sample 1

Friends of ours are getting married in August of this year and they've asked me to do their invitations. I'm really excited and honored to be asked. I thought I would do a couple samples for them to choose from and then we can go from there. I'm keeping mailing in mind as well...one thing I've learned with cards, the thicker they are, the more expensive and since there's about 70 of these going out, I'm trying to keep that in mind. So, for sample #1, I started with a 6x12" piece of CS and scored it at 1.5, 5.5 and 9" then I cut my CS for the invite to 3.5x5.5 and the pocket CS (cream) is 3x5.5. The pocket will hold all the extra information. The bow is cut from "Sweetheart" cricut cart at 1 1/4 and the corner scroll is cut at 2 1/4. I did their wedding invite on velum. Stay tuned for next samples to follow!

(for some reason, the whole invite wouldn't show right side up, so I've just added the close up of the front)

LMCB #22 - Stamp Away!!!

Good morning! It's Sunday and that means time for another Lasting Memories challenge! This week we're challenging you to dig out those stamps and use them on your layouts! How fun! This is another layout for my zoo book. I love this one! Andrew was being silly and carrying a pink bag, so of course, I HAD to take that pic! I love his grin in this one! Ashleigh just looked so sweet and innocent in this pic, another fav. I used a CTMH stamp and stamped my background on this one. Hope on over to LMCB and be inspired AND meet my newest DT members!! Have a great day!

For A Special Friend,,,

Good morning! Happy Birthday wishes to my friend, Carrie! Here's a card I put together for her last night. I used my friend Kelli's magnolia and the cards I found at Michaels. I then used my SU! border punch and added a pc of black CS on the inside. The sentiments are both CTMH and the ink inside is also from SU!

Happy Birthday Carrie! Have a great day!

Lasting Memories Challenge #20 - What's Your Style??

Good morning and welcome to our first challenge of 2011 at Lasting Memories! We're kicking it off with a blog hop to introduce you to my new DT! Super excited! This weeks challenge is a fun one...we want to see YOUR STYLE! Fun huh?? If you're following the hop, you should have come here from Denise's blog. If you're just starting, start at Lasting Memories and follow your way, you won't want to miss seeing these gorgeous layouts!! Once you've come to visit me, you're at the end of the hop and it's your turn to play along and show us your style.

My layout is from a trip to the zoo. I stamped my background and then started matting/layering my pics. I then added some fun die cuts and ribbon to tie it all together. I guess you could say my style is simplicity most of the time, but I do try to go out of the box as well.

Enjoy The Journey

Today we are heading to my parents place and we're going to learn how to make my grandma's secret cabbage rolls. Dad's birthday was on Thursday, so this is going to be a celebration dinner and then we'll hang out for a few games and a visit. Hopefully. Our daughter has been sick since Thursday night, so it'll depend on how she feels! So, here's the card I made for dad...Happy Birthday Dad!
