Some Grad Pics

Hello! Well what a day yesterday! We got everything all set up at the park and it was just gorgeous. Grad was set for 5pm. 3pm, doesn't a wind storm blow through and took out the arbour and the first row of chairs and all the caterers table clothes, utensils..everything! The wind was just howling off the lake! So, after a much thought out debate, the principle thought it would be best for everyone's safety to take it to the school. I couldn't believe how quickly our parents pulled together and got us moved up to the school. We were reset within half an hour. It was amazing. The principle figured we would need time, so she asked everyone to come back for a 6pm start. Can you believe, they were ready at 5:15???? A HUGE thank you to everyone for all their help! The grad ceremony was still beautiful and went off without a hitch. And yes, you guessed it...by the time we got to the school, the sun was shining down. Go figure!

Here's a few pics for you to enjoy...isn't our boy handsome?? And his date looked stunning!!! My sister took the one with the umbrella and I love it! Thanks, Lee Ann! There is one of all of us together (family) but it's on someone elses camera. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of Andrew and his dad or my brother. He hates getting his pic taken to begin with, so half the time he was trying to run the other way! The one of me with the 2 boys is Andrew's best friend and our "adopted" (hehehehe) son, Thomas.

Congrats guys! And to Andrew...congratulations son, we're so very proud of you and we love you very much. You've excelled this year and really started to come out of your shell. Keep up the good work and remember to always follow your dreams. Always reach high, we know you can do it. Good luck in grade 9!!!

Project Tuesday - Fries Box

Morning! Don't forget to run over to Project Tuesday today! Today's project is a fries box. I had every intention of playing along, but with grad and everything, I just didn't have time. I will though, this week! It's a fun one!

Graduation Day!

Good morning!! Can ya tell I ran out of layouts? Hehehe! Today's a busy day. It's our son's Gr 8 graduation and I can hardly believe the time is here already. We had an assembly on Friday to say goodbye to some teachers and it was very emotional and now today will be another emotional day. Tmw our daughter's class does the final assembly with awards etc then they do a "Clap Off" for the gr 8's. The WHOLE school lines the halls and they play a song over the PA system and they clap as the grade 8 class walks the halls out to the bus loop one last time. Just writing this, I get teary eyed. They grow so darn fast and we've noticed such a HUGE change in Andrew the last bit. He's really starting to come out of his quiet shell...I guess he's growing up. So, I'll have some pics to post tmw, but not sure when I'll get a second to get creative. Hopefully this week! So, with that being said, I have a ton of errands to run and then up to help set up, grab the kid's at 2, bring them home to get ready and away we go. I'm praying that the rain holds off as we were hoping to have it outside, down in the park by the lake. Rain, rain...go AWAY!!

Oh yeah, and remember our tree frog friends??? UGH! Last night we started to hear the call from a ways away and by last night, it was by the pool again!! We couldn't even sleep!! Guess we'll be going on another catch and release!

Have fun day and don't forget to check out my challenge blog!! Kick off is July 4th, but we have hints all this week!

Earthquake in Ontario????

I thought I would take a quick minute and post here as I'm getting calls and emails. I was sitting here a few minutes ago and all of a sudden my monitor started to shake, my wall unit was shaking, the glasses tinkling and the wall of course. It only lasted about 10 secs, but I thought there was no way that was an earthquake, we don't get those here. Then my mom called from Keswick (10 min's south of me) and wanted to know if we felt anything and I said I had, so that pretty much confirmed it for me! I turned on CP24 and it's all over the news. We've had a 5.5 earthquake hit Ontario!! I've never experienced anything like that. They are even evacuating some places in the city. Unbelievable!

UPDATE: CP24

This is BEAUTIFUL!

Project Tuesday - "Happy Birthday" Swingtop Card

Hello again! Guess what! It's Tuesday and you know what that means! It's time for another Project Tuesday!!! This week we made swing top cards. I LOVE these cards. They are super easy to make and just look so pretty. You can make them into anything you want...make them elegant, fun, cheery...you name it! If you remember, 2 weeks ago we did the Explosion Box. I had made this card to match as well. Doesn't that look pretty together? Now it's your turn to play along. Hop on over to the PT blog, check out what the DT created and hope you can play along too!

Ready, Set...BODY SURF!

This one was fun to do. Don't ya love the bathing suit sticker?? It practically matches Thomas'! This layout is all about Thomas learning to body surf in those crazy rapids. I personally thought it was just too cold (ok, so I was a LITTLE scared...and it was cold!! It really was!) Lorne was an amazing teacher and he might not have a lot of patience at work (he works for Keith) but he had a TON of patience for those kids.

Tree Frog Release

***SECOND POST FOR TODAY, PLS SCROLL DOWN FOR FATHER'S DAY POST***

I thought this photo montage was perfect for Father's Day....Daddy and his girl doing one of the things they love best.

Remember our little tree frog from the pool?? Well, we were able to catch him and put him in a carrier so we could go release him. I was standing by the back door and heard that VERY familiar chirping sound! Well, we had TWO in there! They were a pair! Thank goodness we heard the second. He wasn't a happy camper when we took his mate! So, we managed to catch them both and here's some photo's of Keith and Ashleigh releasing them in a swampy area up the road. They were so happy to be free, they were off like a shot and I didn't get a pic of them. You can kind of see them in their carrier. I can still hear them in the distance at night time when it's really quiet.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! Here's the Father's Day cards that I made. The stamp is from CTMH, sorry, I can't remember the name as I borrowed it. "Happy Father's Day" is the inside of the card. Here's one of my favorite Father's Day poems, I'd like to share it with you.

Walk a little slower
Author: unknown
"Walk a little slower Daddy" said a child so small,
"I'm following in your footsteps and I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true,
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

Campfire Fun

An evening of campfire fun. What child (and sometimes us adults, hehehe!) doesn't like sparklers?? The kids were really enjoying themselves and Thomas showed us his guitar skills. He's very good and we had never heard him play before. Was a nice surprise!

Another Exciting Adventure!!

**scroll down for today's layout**

Well, I'm off on another adventure!! I've been toying with an idea for a few weeks and I've decided to go for it!! Come and check it out!!

Trail Talk and Hangin' Out

This is another framed layout from the Vacation Pack my mom gave me from Michaels. This one was 8x8 I think, so I added a 12x12 patterned paper on the back. More pics from Palmers Rapids. Yes, I think it needs an album all it's own! I have lots more to come! Top left is my handsome hubby (ok, I'm a biased! LOL!) bottom left is friends of ours and Ashleigh and Ashleigh on the bottom right and Keith and Ash top right. Cardboard cutouts are from Bo Bunny as well as the stickers.

Kayak Fun

When we were in Palmers Rapids, a friend of ours taught Ashleigh as well as Andrew's friend, Thomas, to kayak. He took Ashleigh up the river rapids in the river canoe and then had her in a single kayak to see how she liked it. She loved it. Thomas was gone for hours and had a blast. Andrew just wasn't interested. He's not a boat kinda guy. The other pics are friends of Lorne's friends that he was teaching some other kayaking tricks.

I used Cricut "Camp Out" cartridge for my canoe and paddles, the frames are from my mom...it's actually a kit from Michaels and I love it!

High Hopes SURPRISE & New Release, Coming June 18th!

***SECOND POST FOR TODAY, PLS SCROLL DOWN FOR TODAY'S LAYOUT!***

You don't want to miss this!! Visit High Hopes to get all the really awesome details!!

Another Camping Layout

Good morning! Well, it's a very rainy one here, but we need it, right? A little tough when you have (3) 2 yr old's running around! Makes for a busy, yet fast, day! This is another layout I completed at the retreat from our trip to Palmers Rapids last summer. Aren't these beautiful? They almost look like they are in a rain forest. It's a really cool place there. As you can tell from their clothes, it was a COLD and wet July long wknd! Again, I believe the paper and the cardboard die cuts are from Bo Bunny.

Have a great day!
