LMCB #8 - Chipboard and Fall Colors! It's a BABY Book!

Good morning! Hope everyone's had a great wknd do far! This week at Lasting Memories, we're challenging you to use fall colors AND chipboard on your layouts! On Tuesday, I posted a card that I made for my neighbor's new addition to their family. I had planned on making a nice layout and framing it and then I remembered I had my CTMH Acrylic album that I still had sitting in my drawer!! So, I thought this would be the perfect gift and then Beverly just has to add her photo's and journalling and I've even added a couple little pockets for a lock of hair, whatever she chooses! The little stars are done in chipboard and some of the colors remind me of fall. There's quite a few pages to this little book. There are some that are smaller, a couple little insert types...I hope you can see them all ok. If you click the photo, you'll see it better. I can't wait to give this little set to her!! Now be sure to hop on over to Lasting Memories to see what the rest of my DT came up with to inspire you to play along!!

Unfortunately, the last 2 pics wouldn't load right, I'm not sure what's going on. Tried 3 times and gave up! You can get the idea though.  Question for you...would you add Ryder's last name on the front as well? Let me know what you think!

Super Busy Week!

Good morning!! I just had to take 5 and get on here and have a peek around. I've been super busy this week and you know, I haven't even been on the computer much, let alone around blogger world! Wanna know what I've been up to??? Buying a new vehicle!! We decided just to see what our options were and were thinking of a truck, but then Ashleigh and I saw this and that was it. We were in love! It's a 2005 Yukon Denali, fully loaded and in super shape! We picked it up on Wednesday night. It's a nice ride and since I work from home, the gas won't be too bad. They are definitely guzzlers compared to our mini-van. We worked out the cost to go to Florida though and it should only be about $50 more than the mini-van. The kid's love it. It has heated seats, they control it themselves, an amazing stereo (Andrew LOVES that), buttons and gadgets galore. I just love it!! These are stock photo's from the dealer website. I'll get some and post them later. Hope everyone is well! I have some crafting to get into this wknd and don't forget..a new challenge will be posted at Lasting Memories on Sunday! You can find the link on my sidebar. Chat soon!

Project Tuesday - Tri-Fold Pocket Card!

Good morning! It's Tuesday and you know what that means! It's time for another Project Tuesday!!! This week, we're asking you to make a Tri-Fold Pocket Card. I decided to make mine into a "Welcome Baby" card as my neighbor finally had her baby and they welcomed a little boy, Ryder. So, this is Ryder's baby card and I am going to make a layout to match and buy them a 12x12 frame. Stay tuned! For now, hop on over to Project Tuesday to check out what the rest of the DT came up with!

For my card, I used CTMH "Animal Crackers" paper and I used my Cricut "New Arrival" cartridge and found a poem online for the inside.

LMCB #7 - Circles, Squares and Scallops!

Hi there! Seems like it's been forever since I've had some time to play. I now have Monday's off and looking fwd to some quiet crafty time in my craft room to catch up! This weeks challenge at Lasting Memories is to use circles, squares and scallops on your layout. I used another pattern from my new CTMH book called "Magic" and love the look of this one! I used a masking element from Tim Holtz and my layout is based on a family vacation to a cottage my sister and her family rented 3 yrs ago. Yes, I am a little behind! Now hope on over to Lasting Memories to check out what my DT came up with!! Hope you can play along too!

LMCB #6 - Out Of The Box!

Good morning! Guess what! It's Sunday, which means time for our next Lasting Memories challenge! This week we are challenging you to go "out of the box" and either try something completely new or something that's just simply out of the box for you! Remember my last post of my dogs, well, this is the corresponding page. The LO pattern is from the newest edition to the CTMH Books called "Magic". LOVE this book! So, this LO has something I have NEVER tried before. Pull tab! But check it out!! You pull and you get a pic AND journalling!! I admit, a little work was put into this, but I had never done it before. Once I figured it out, we were good to go and I look forward to doing another one. Now hop on over to Lasting Memories to check out the rest of the DT inspiration and believe me, you'll be inspired and then we hope you can play along! You have till Friday night!

Here's the layout as it looks with the pull tab
PULL and voila! Journalling AND a photo!

A closer look...

The "Magic" book comes complete with a CD full of templates. You need the template to do this pull tab. Here's the page from the book to explain how to do it. I didn't think to take pics as I went. A definite must have for all you scrapbookers out there! If you're interesting in purchasing one and do NOT have a current consultant, please contact me for more information. We have an order going in in 2 weeks.

Best Friends...

I just had to share this. I made this layout using my new CTMH "Magic" book. I love it!! Of course I added my own spin by adding the flip flaps to display more pics. Another must have in my book now! "Best Friends" is done with CTMH "Irresistible Dots" in desert sand ink. Again, another first time use for me!! To see the page that matches this one, you'll have to be sure to tune in on Sunday for our next Lasting Memories challenge!

Thinking of You....

Hey there! I just uploaded some new photo's to my photography blog if you want to have a peek!

Also...Time's running out if you want a chance to enter Glitterbabe's Challenge! I wanted to get a card done for my grandma and this week at Glitterbabe's, the challenge is:

our challenge this week is one suggested by our very own gina. gina has suggested that we FREE UP A FREEBIE!!!! those poor freebies need some air time too! sooooooooo, to play in this week’s challenge here’s what you have to do……….
grab a freebie! just click the FREEBIE button in the sidebar (i do try to keep this easy for you)
grab a freebie or 2 (heck, grab 3 if you like)
make a VERY SPARKLY card or (anything else that strikes your fancy)

How fun and easy is that? So I went and checked her freebies and I love this one and my grandma used to love puttering in her garden and now that she's in a seniors home, she doesn't have her own garden. I thought this would make her smile. So, get on over there and enter your own! New challenge posted tmw!!

EDIT: Looks like I need to make another, I sold this one!

For my card, I used fun flock on the wheelbarrow, micro beads for the heart, lyra's to color the grey part on the wheelbarrow and of course glitter and glittered chipboard. Then I used my prisma chalks and did the sky and ground areas. Enjoy!

Super Excited!!

Good morning! Man, is it HOT here today! Supposed to last right through the night. Now is when we get a little crazy weatherwise. We're looking at high 30's with the humidex today and I believe 29* through the night and then by the wknd, we're down to 18*! We actually broke a couple records for heat yesterday. I'll take it though! So, I haven't got a card to show you today, but I wanted to share yet another adventure I've decided to take. You can see it HERE. I'm really excited about it as I've already picked up 2 weddings, baby announcements and possible a family photo shoot!! I'm super excited!

On another note, I got some money for my birthday and got an amazing deal at OhMyCrafts.com! I got the Cricut JukeBox AND Design Studio, delivered to my door for $67!! So excited about that to! It arrived yesterday, so I'm hoping tonight I can get some time to play! You'll be the first to know!

Don't forget, we have a new challenge going at Lasting Memories and hope you get a chance to join us! Also, be sure to hop on over to FBW and High Hopes today, they got some AWESOME things going on!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
