Graduation Card

Hello! With graduation coming up in June, I decided to try my hand at a couple graduation cards last week. This one is using a pattern from my CTMH 'Wishes' book and I added a charm "Made With Love" and I found some great stickers from Jolee's. This one is more girly I think, but stay tuned for some clean and simple ones to come! All cards say "Congratulations" inside.

Flutter By Wednesday # 107 - Clean and Simple With Butterflies

Good morning and welcome to another Flutter by Wednesday! This week's challenge is from one of our DT members, Debby, and it is "Clean and Simple with butterflies" I bought this scrapbook kit and decided to use this. The page was already pre-done. All I had to do was add my photo and journal. I added the butterflies as well. For my quote, I searched one of my favourite sites called Scrapbook.com. You can find poems and quotes here and I use it ALOT! I thought this quote was very fitting for my family.

Now, flutter on over to the FBW blog to see what the DT has created to inspire you this week. Also, this week, we say goodbye to 2 DT members...Chris and Shana...as they are off to embark on new and exciting adventures. Best of luck to you both and I look fwd to seeing all your new creations! We'll miss you on the FBW DT!!

8x8 Grad Album

Well, today's the day of my very first craft show! Wish me luck! I was very busy as I didn't know if I was going to do it till the last minute and I mean LAST minute! I've been busy at home, then came down with an eye infection on Wed night...what a week!! It's been a whirlwind, so I hope I do well. I decided to try my hand at a Graduation gift set. I had an 8x8 album, so I pre-made all the pages and all you have to do is add photo's and journal. I made a matching card to go with it. I thought this would be the prefect gift for that graduate on your list. Of course, if it doesn't sell, I'll keep it for Andrew's grad in June! Let me know what you think! I made it fairly simple so it could be used for either a boy or a girl. There are some more pages, but I left them plain, with a 7x7 white square in the middle for autographs, photo's, whatever they choose. I also added some inspirational sayings on those pages and the last pg is (4) 3x3 squares. There's 20 pg's in all.

Grapefruit Scented Bath Salts W/Matching Cards!

Good morning! Here's another crafty idea I came up with for the upcoming craft show tmw! I got the bath salt idea from my friend Kelli. She made them for teacher's gifts at Xmas time. I couldn't get my hands on Mandarin oil, so I decided to go with Grapefruit Essential Oils and red food coloring to ting it pink. Oh my GOODNESS does this stuff smell good!!! I made up 10 bottles and had enough left over for 3 personal ones as well. I then made (10) 3x3 cards that are blank inside, but have a little saying on the inside left panel...
"Pamper Yourself With Handmade Grapefruit Bath Salts. Just Add 2-3 tbsp’s To Your Bath & Enjoy!"

This way, they can be used for any kind of gift! Not bad huh?? I did the recipe 4x's and as I said, it made 10 small jars, plus I had enough to fill 3 small, snack sized tupperware containers about half way. There's actually alot in these jars to! I have it pretty packed so ppl will get alot for their money.
Here's the recipe! (I got everything I needed at the local Bulk Barn and the jars at Dollarama!)

For most bath salts recipes you can use your choice of epsom salts or sea salt, with baking soda, if desired, or a combination of all three. A nice mixture is:

  • one cup of epsom salts
  • 1/4 cup of sea salt
  • two or three tablespoons of baking soda (I used 2)
  • essential oil (about 10 drops is a nice scent)
  • liquid food coloring (again adjust to your desired color)

Epsom salts and sea salt are soothing for tired muscles, while both will gently soften the water for a luxurious bath experience. Add your choice of essential oil, but start with two or three drops and see if you like the fragrance. The same goes for the liquid food coloring; sometimes I use quite a few drops of food color to get the strong hue that I like, but so far it hasn't stained the bath tub or anyone's skin. Remember that the color and fragrance will be much diluted in the bath water. For best results I mix all the ingredients in my food processer. Then put them in a jar of your choice! Put 1 or 2 tablespoons in a nice warm bath, and relax!

Just A Note ~ Magnetic Note Boards

First off...today is my neice's 1st birthday!! Hard to believe a yr has gone by already! Her name is Isabella, but we call her Bella and she's also adopted "Bella Bunny" because she is certainly as cute as a little bunny!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA BUNNY!!!
Now on to today's post....

Good morning!! I'm slowly getting my mojo back, I have no choice with the craft show this weekend! So, this is something that my friend Kelli and I did for our monthly club a few months ago. I never did get a chance to finish mine, but I thought they would be nice to take to the show as well. These are magnetic note boards using pizza pans. You can use any shape you want! I used my cricut and plantin schoolbook to cut the circle (fit to pg) and then decorate! I just have to pick up the magnets and punch the holes/add ribbon for hanging and they're done! Let me know what you think!

Flutter By Wednesday # 105 - FUN!

Good morning and welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday!! This week's challenge is an open one, as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project. This is actually a layout I did a yr or so ago and it's in a frame, so the photo's a little off. I love this one. My sister and her family rented a cottage (ok, it's 2 yrs ago) and my parents took our 2 kid's up for a couple days as well. So I loved playing around with this one and having the 4 kids on there. It's very simple, but I love it and hope you do to!
Be sure to flutter over to the FBW blog to be inspired by the rest of the DT as well as see the winner of last week's challenge AND some new changes coming to the FBW blog! It's all VERY exciting!
Have a fun day all!

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday! This week you're in for a treat. Former FBW team member, Stef, AKA Glitterbabe is sponsering us! Next week a winner will be chosen by Random.Org to receive 2 images from Glitterbabe Greetings! How exciting is that! All you have to do is have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project and make it sparkle! It's that simple! For this week's project, I decided to make another Diaper Fold Pouch and I used one of Glitterbabe's butterfly images and added a little prisma glitter to make her sparkle.

Now, flutter on over to the FBW blog and see what the DT has come up with to inspire you and while you're there, don't forget to add your creation!! Have fun and good luck!

Happy Good Friday! A Spring Photo Opp!

Hi everyone and happy Good Friday!! We have spent the day outside enjoying the sun. My hubby left hours ago on his motorcycle, we haven't seen him since..lol! Ashleigh woke up talking and hasn't stopped, so he's likely on his way to Florida by now! LOL! So, you have seen the water in our backyard, right? Well, as you've seen in previous pics, the dogs LOVE it back there. We're trying to pump it out now as it isn't going away, but man, there's ALOT of water back there! So...seeing as it's 20 something degree's today, Ashleigh decided...HEY! I want to get wet too! So, a photo opp was born!! Here's Ash and Buddy enjoying a GORGEOUS spring day. My Kid's Are Pretty Talented!

Good morning! Looks like it's finally warming up again here! Double digits, low 20's all wknd! Bring it on! So, I have 2 things to share today that each of my kid's made. We're so proud of them both!

Ashleigh has been working with her grandma on a little project and all I knew was that it was something to do with a goose and it was for Easter. Well, grandma came over last night and they finished it and look what it is!! It's a bookmark that Ashleigh made, all by herself, with a little help and guidance from grandma!!! I love those moments they share, they're something to be treasured. She did a beautiful job and she's very proud of herself!
Andrew's grade 8 class is putting on a cake raffle today. The gr 8's all had to make a cake and it will be marked for their art mark and they get raffled off today for $.25/ticket and all the money goes to the gr 8 graduation. Ashleigh took $10, she wants her brother's cake! LOL! I was in awe when we went in to see the rest of the cakes though. Wow. There is some talent out there...all the gr 8's should be VERY proud of themselves!! Andrew's theme was lego land/lagoon. That's ALOT of candy on there!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'm on day 2 with absolutely no voice, which makes for interesting days when watching toddlers!! Just call me "The Child Whisperer"! LOL!
