We're Back From Vacation!

Hey everyone!! We're back from vacation!! Wow, what a difference in the weather here. We had 2 full weeks of nothing but sun, high 80's to low 90's every day and 70's at night. Was awesome. We couldn't have had better weather. The ocean was 80*C, the pool was about the same. I have a ton of pics and since Ashleigh celebrated her 10th birthday in Florida...she HAD to do something that couldn't be done here at home...we went to Gator Land and she sat on a REAL gator!! Thurs before we left, Keith and Andrew went snorkeling and had the most amazing experience!! Keith LITERALLY walked right into a manatee!! He was walking and said it was like hitting a (sharp) brick wall. He looked and saw his leg cut and then this manatee lifted his head up out of the water to see what had disturbed him and Keith yelled "RUN ANDREW!" Omg, I SO wish I was there! He said they ran screaming to shore and then walked back and got some pics once all was settled. The poor guy was covered in barnacles and Keith said he was about 8 ft long and just huge! I'll post pics when I have some time. We're expecting flurries here this afternoon...too bad that warm weather didn't follow us home.

LMCB #12 - Flip Flaps and Some Candy!

Hey all!! So, this week at Lasting Memories, we're challenging you to use Flip Flaps on your layouts, which is one of my newest MUST haves!! I LOVE these things!! You'll find a link on them over at Lasting Memories. CTMH has now come out with some different sizes and I can't wait to get my hands on them! I love that I can add as many photo's as I want to my pages and not have to worry about where they're going to go. This is a layout I had already completed and then found 2 more pics that I thought would work great using my flip flaps. So I've added them on the left page. First you see us getting on the boat and then you open it to see Keith and Andrew and then Andrew getting to touch a sea urchin. As I said, LOVE these things!

Project Tuesday - Corner Bookmark

Hello friends! It's time for another exciting project at Project Tuesday!! This week's project is a corner bookmark! I LOVED this project and will be making many more of these guys. For my bookmark, I used (my fav) CTMH "Topstitch" paper and pinwheels. I don't know what I'll do if they retire this paper! As you can see, it fits quite nicely on a larger size book as well. LMCB #11 - Using Handmade Flowers!

Good morning! Welcome to another Lasting Memories challenge! This week we're challenging you to add handmade flowers to your layouts. This was a tough one for me as this is something I don't do. I always buy them pre-made, so I just add them in!! I'm actually on vacation for 2 weeks, so I'm hoping this pre-posts ok! This is something I put together, literally, before we left. I used my circle punch and then my SU! scalloped circle and cut it every 2 scallops and 'popped' it up and then added a little sunflower ink to it. The photo's are from our last Florida trip. LMCB #10 - Our Birthday Girl

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! We're celebrating with a nice family dinner today here at our home. The house smells yummy and can't wait till everyone gets here. We're expecting 10-12 adults and 5 munchkins!! First things first...the winner of last week's blog candy is:

It's also time for another Lasting Memories challenge!! This week's challenge is to use any kind of embossing on your layouts. I couldn't resist my daughter's birthday down in Florida. I used CTMH "Topstitch" paper and stickease. This is one of my fav's for sure.

For my embossing, I chose to get my cuttlebug out and emboss some little presents and then I cut them out with my circle punch. The pattern is from CTMH "Magic" layout book. LOVE this book! Now hop on over to Lasting Memories to check out the rest of the DT's layouts and be sure to play along!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

We're holding Thanksgiving this year and I've really enjoyed the preparations. We're hosting a dinner for 15 people. Ashleigh helped me decorate our tables, and I made little place setting cards as well. I thought the kids would really get a kick out of that. The 2 images are from Michaels and the sentiment is from Stamps and Smiles. I added a little glitter and I'm happy with how they look. The little pumpkin trio cards are for the kid's and the other for the adults. I put everyone's names on the back of the cards. I hope everyone is enjoying their wknd and for all my friends celebrating Thanksgiving this wknd...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

"Little Miracle" Baby Memory Box & Board Book Gift Set

Hi all! This is a baby shower gift set I put together for my sister, who's cousin (in law) is expecting. I am absolutely thrilled with how this turned out. This is the 3rd one I've done and they seem to keep getting better as I go. I made this set for my niece as well. The set consists of a (CTMH) Memory Box and (CTMH) Board Book. I used CTMH "Animal Crackers" paper and my "New Arrival" cricut cartridge. I added some pockets to the book as well. I hope they love it as much as I do!!! The memory box is about 10x10" and about 3" high. The memory book is 6x6".The monkey's tummy is done in fun flock and the elephants ears in stickles. The baby's photo will go in the matte area on top of his/her box!

Life's A Beach...

Good morning! So happy it's Friday here! We're heading into a nice long weekend filled with family and friends. We're holding Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday and really looking fwd to it. I love the smell of turkey when it fills your house! So, as promised, here's one of the layouts I recently finished from our trip to Florida in 2007. We spent ALOT of time at the beach and Ashleigh made some really cool sandcastles. This one was of the condo, complete with pool and jacuzzi. We scoured the beach for materials and away she went. I used my "Life's A Beach" cricut cartridge and I did computer journaling on velum and added it right over the photo. The layout pattern is from my CTMH "Magic" book. Love it! Have a GREAT day everyone! Supposed to be 21*C here this afternoon!!

Project Tuesday - Nugget Purse

Good morning! It's Tuesday, which means time for another Project Tuesday! This week's project is super easy and super cute!! We're making nugget purses! I didn't have any nuggets on hand, but I made the little purse to put them in. I was thinking these would even make really cute Thanksgiving place settings..add a little something inside and a name on the front. LMCB #9 - "Oh The Places We'll Go...."

Good morning!! Can you believe it's Oct?? Wow, where has the year gone? Crazy!! So, this week at Lasting Memories, we're challenging you to use fancy (paper) folds and folders (pockets) on your layouts!! This was a little harder doing this one on a layout. It's SO much easier on a card! My DT had some emails flying back and forth for idea's and I know you'll love to see what they came up with! For my layout, I used CTMH "Tinkerin'" paper and stickease and I added 2 CTMH "flip flaps" so I could get more pics on each page. Each one kind of tells a story as well. I chose to add a pocket to my layout that holds a photo CD of our Florida trip. I think I'll be making more of those as I have ALOT of CD's from that trip!
